About Byron

A lifelong Howard County resident, Byron holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and is licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland. Byron's primary focus in law is in the area of wills, estates, and trusts.

Byron credits his education in Howard County Public Schools for inspiring his passion for government and public service. Over the past ten years, Byron has developed a distinguished record of commitment to service in government and politics.

He has had the privilege of working at the County, State, and Federal levels of government, for then-County Councilman Guy Guzzone, Circuit Court Judge Richard Bernhardt, State Senator Edward J. Kasemeyer, and United States Senator Edward M. Kennedy. From 2004 to 2006, Byron served as Legislative Director to Delegate Peter Franchot, now the Comptroller of Maryland. In 2006, Byron was elected to serve on the Howard County Democratic Central Committee.

Prior to earning his law degree, Byron attended the University of Maryland, College Park, earning his bachelors degree in government and political science, with Citations in Public Leadership and Communication. While at the University he was elected Governor of the statewide Maryland Student Legislature, and active in student leadership, including the College Democrats.

Byron maintains close ties with his mother and two siblings. His mother, Kathy, works at the Horizon Foundation of Howard County, a health and wellness non-profit in Columbia. His brother, John, has served in the United States Army Reserves and now works for the medical animation company, Eyemaginations. Byron's sister, Kasey, is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland and currently works at the Community Action Council of Howard County as the Assistant to the President.
